Tomb Sphynx

A silent judge of the dead, and the sentinel of mourning

Wow haven't drawn these guys in a while. Here's some Skyrine folklore/mythology for you: Tomb Sphynxes are mythical creatures said to guard the final resting places of those who died with honor. Many warriors and leaders are buried with carved statues of these beasts, which tend to be made out of obsidian, granite, marble or a combination of all three. Royalty frequently had Tomb Sphynxes made out gold and precious gems. it is believed should any grave robbers attempt to disturb the body or possessions of the deceased, the Sphynx will spring to life and kill the intruder.
Others believe Sphynxes guide the departed souls to the realm of the Ancient God, where they fuse with the universe and live the rest of eternity in enlightened serenity.
